As a community based organisation we rely on external funding to deliver our services and the work that we do. As with many voluntary organisations, we are affected by local authority cuts making it more vital than ever before to seek alternative sources of income. The housing costs of the project are met through social benefits claimed by the residents. However, the support programme and pastoral costs require funding to be raised through donations.

The Haven Kilmacolm has already taken the following steps to raise funds:

  • Income is generated through social benefits claimed by the residents which cover the housing costs of the project.
  • We have a rolling programme of applications to be submitted to Trusts and Foundations.
  • Income is also generated from churches and individuals and through reclaiming gift aid.
  • Events such as our annual Open Day held on the grounds of The Haven Kilmacolm and our smaller Ladies Cosmetics Evening or Fashion Evening help to raise funds.
